Josh Taveras has officially launched his grassroots campaign for Congress in New York’s 2nd District, and it’s already making waves across Long Island.

Born in Bay Shore and raised in Copiague by a Dominican immigrant family, Josh’s story is one of grit, struggle, and hope. From growing up on food stamps to becoming a first-generation college graduate and openly gay congressional candidate, Josh is stepping up to fight for the communities that have long been ignored by the political establishment.

“Our campaign is powered by people, not corporations,” Josh said. “We’re building a movement that reflects the real lives and dreams of NY-2, working families, young people, immigrants, LGBTQ+ folks, and everyone who's been told to wait their turn. Our time is now.”

Josh is running on a bold progressive platform that includes:
